Hilgraeve, Inc. Announces Enterprise Enhancements to the HyperSend Secure Internet Delivery System
New Features Expand System Integration and Automation Capabilities
Monroe, Mich., August 19, 2002 - Hilgraeve, Inc., a leading provider of secure Internet data transfer software to the healthcare industry, today announced the release of new enterprise-oriented enhancements to its HyperSend secure data transfer system. HyperSend is an Internet-based technology that enables healthcare organizations to exchange sensitive information securely with clients and business partners. The new features, which include support for XML, Java, and powerful automation tools, enable healthcare organizations to integrate secure Internet data transfer with their existing business processes.
HyperSend acts as a secure conduit for automated transfer of data, enabling healthcare organizations to leverage cost-effective Internet connectivity while meeting HIPAA requirements. The new features give even greater control over transfer processes, which can help providers improve their services and gain an edge. In the medical transcription field, for example, one important measure of performance is turnaround time – the time from when physicians finish dictating to when the transcribed report is delivered to them. With HyperSend and its new features, transcription companies can shorten the delivery time and precisely track total turnaround – giving them an edge in a highly competitive market.
The new XML and Java features also broaden the scope of enterprise applications for HyperSend, by enabling organizations to send, receive, and track data transfers among computer of all kinds, not just Windows and Mac computers. Large healthcare organizations may use whatever platform they choose to initiate and track automated data transfers with their customers, and they may also deploy HyperSend for mission-critical back office data transfers with business partners, in lieu of less desirable methods such as FTP, VPNs, or EDI.
Seacoast Laboratory Data Systems, Inc., based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is integrating HyperSend and its new XML, Java, and automation tools into the SurroundLab™ suite of clinical lab products to provide its clients with an option for secure, automated delivery of lab reports through the Internet. HyperSend lets clinical labs deliver reports directly to doctors’ PCs and print them automatically using a hands-free “push” process – a secure, cost-effective alternative to faxes, teleprinters or physical delivery – which eliminates the need for doctors to pick up reports from web sites.
“The pending HIPAA regulations are very unsettling to many laboratory professionals,” said Jim Whitehurst, Director of Sales and Marketing for Seacoast Laboratory Data Systems, Inc. “Clinical laboratory managers cannot be certain about the specific impact of HIPAA regulations on their organizations, but regardless of what the final regulations turn out to be, HyperSend will provide our clinical lab clients with a flexible, easy-to-implement HIPAA-ready solution that lets them exchange test results through the Internet today, safely, securely and economically,” Mr. Whitehust added.
HyperSend features powerful capabilities that give physicians and healthcare organizations the ability to exchange patient data automatically – even among unattended computers. The system also provides centralized management and deployment and can be integrated with existing laboratory information systems and practice management software. HyperSend requires virtually no training, doesn’t require maintenance by an IT staff, and can be implemented quickly.
“HyperSend has been widely adopted in the healthcare industry as a secure method for exchanging patient-related information through the Internet,” said Matt Gray, president and CEO of Hilgraeve, Inc. “It uses highly regarded industry-standard encryption protocols that pass effortlessly through firewalls and ensure safe, reliable transfer of healthcare data of all kinds – lab reports, HL7 data, charting or claims information, even large medical images – among service providers, hospitals, medical practices, and our healthcare business partners,” Mr. Gray continued.
