  • Matt Gray announces his retirement.  Robert Everett is promoted from EVP to CEO.  Jeff Beamsley is promoted from VP of Business Development to President and is responsible for company operations.

2003

  • Symantec announces purchase of Hilgraeve “HyperGuard” patent. .

2002

  • Hilgraeve and Cerner announce partnership

2000

  • Hilgraeve launches HyperSend.
  • Hilgraeve issues a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) readiness statement, announcing their standard to exchange electronic mail of secure files.

1999

  • Hilgraeve releases DropChute Enterprise, a workflow automation server designed to exchange mission-critical information in business and enterprise applications.
  • Southwest Business Corporation (SWBC) becomes a beta-testing participant for DropChute Enterprise.
  • Hilgraeve receives a patent for Internet Rendezvous, a technology that allows computer users to connect through the Internet, even to people who are not currently online.
  • The DropChute line of products responds to a Clinton administration proposal for Frederal standards to protect health records by ensuring privacy during electronic transfers.
  • Hilgraeve announces HyperTerminal Privat Edition 5.0 is Y2K ready.
  • Hilgraeve includes digital certificate support in DropChute 3.0.

1998

  • Hilgraeve launches DropChute product family.
  • Hilgraeve introduces Internet Rendezvous into the DropChute product line.
  • Hilgraeve releases a free upgrade to HyperTerminal.
  • Hilgraeve's line of HyperTerminal is one of the most popular downloads on the Internet.
  • Microsoft includes HyperACCESS software in its third version of Windows, Windows 98.
  • Hilgraeve premiers DropChute Pro on ZDNet.

1997

  • Hilgraeve is awarded the "Best of Comdex" award by former technology magazine Byte.

1996

  • Hilgraeve licenses its HyperGuard patent to IBM and Trend Micro, Inc.
  • Hilgraeve releases HyperACCESS Pro for OS/2.
  • Hilgraeve releases HyperACCESS for Windows 95 and NT, which steadily gains market share and remains an instrumental online communications element in many legacy corporate applications.
  • Hilgraeve launches Web site, www.hilgraeve.com currently hosting thousands of visitors a day, with peaks exceeding 40,000 hits.
  • CommSense® is awarded a US patent. Developed for the "HyperACCESS for Windows" product line, CommSense enables the data communications software to automatically identify and set the appropriate communications parameters (parity, stop bits, data bits, terminal type) so users need only supply a phone number.

1995

  • Hilgraeve releases HyperACCESS for OS/2.
  • Microsoft and IBM contract with Hilgraeve to supply communications applets (small, reduced-feature set communications programs) to be included in their operating systems.

1994

  • Hilgraeve releases KopyKat Remote Control Software for OS/2, maintaining its dominant position in the OS/2 market.
  • HyperGuard® virus detection technology is awarded a US patent and is included in most Hilgraeve products. The technology's "X-ray vision" enables it to detect viruses even in compressed files during transfer.
  • Hilgraeve signs OEM deals with IBM and Motorola.

1993

  • Hilgraeve signs OEM deals with Microsoft and Delrina.

1990

  • Hilgraeve applies for a second patent in 1990 (awarded in 1994) for a product called HyperGuard, on the fundamental process used to prevent the spread of computer viruses during communications-technology of inestimable value for the Internet.

1989

  • Jeff Beamsley hired as Director of Sales.

1986

  • The microcomputer-based coin validation technology is sold to Mars Money Systems, a division of the Mars Candy Bar Company.

1985

  • Hilgraeve introduces HyperACCESS, to compete in the growing IBM PC and PC-compatible software market.
  • Hilgraeve receives its first patent for microcomputer-based coin validation technology.

1984

  • ACCESS becomes the top-selling communications program for Heath/Zenith computers.

1982

  • Hilgraeve releases its first computer software, ACCESS, designed to enable Heath 8-bit computers to communicate through modems and telephone lines.

1981

  • Hilgraeve's first product, a bicycle speedometer, is developed which leads to the manufacturing of proximity sensors in 1982.

1980

  • Matt Gray, Bob Everett and John Hile launch Hilgraeve, Inc.
